RRB Recruitment: 3,693 NTPC Posts Open for Intermediate Graduates
The application deadline for RRB NTPC Graduate posts has been extended until October 20.
Recently, RRB has also released advertisements for various educational qualifications, including ITI, Intermediate, Degree, and more.
With an intermediate qualification, you have the opportunity to secure a job at a young age through Indian Railways. The RRB has released a notification to fill 3,693 posts in the Non-Technical Popular Category (NTPC).
The Railway Recruitment Board invites applications to fill these positions. If you demonstrate talent in the exam, you can get a job and potentially advance to higher levels.
Recently, RRB has also released advertisements for various educational qualifications, including ITI, Intermediate, Degree, and more. The application deadlines for these have been extended.
The exam pattern and syllabus are the same for NTPC Intermediate and Degree posts, allowing degree holders to compete for both.
Exams are held separately, with questions for Intermediate posts being slightly less difficult compared to those for Degree holders. However, competition is high, as candidates with degrees and postgraduate qualifications also compete for these positions.
Those already preparing for bank, SSC, and railway jobs may excel. Candidates can choose to take the exam in Telugu as well.
Applicants can compete for vacancies in only one RRB.

Commercial cum Ticket Clerk: 2,022
Junior Clerk cum Typist: 990
Accounts Clerk cum Typist: 361
Trains Clerk: 72
A total of 248 posts have been added for disabled persons. The Commercial cum Ticket Clerk posts offer a Level-3 salary, with a basic salary of Rs. 21,700, leading to a total of around Rs. 40,000.
The remaining Level-2 jobs have a basic salary of Rs. 19,900, totaling about Rs. 36,000 in the first month.
Selection Process: A Computer-Based Test (CBT) will be conducted in two stages for all posts.
Proficiency in these tests is essential. A typing skill test will be conducted for the Accounts Clerk and Junior Clerk positions, followed by certificate verification and a medical examination.
Stage 1:
Total questions: 100
Duration: 90 minutes
Sections:
General Awareness: 40 questions
Mathematics: 30 questions
General Intelligence and Reasoning: 30 questions
From those who qualify in Stage 1, 15 times the number of vacancies will be selected based on merit for Stage 2.
Stage 2:
Total questions: 120
Duration: 90 minutes
Sections:
General Awareness: 50 questions
Mathematics: 35 questions
General Intelligence and Reasoning: 35 questions
Eligibility: Candidates must achieve the following percentage of marks in both stages:
Unreserved, EWS: 40%
OBC NCL: 30%
SC: 30%
ST: 25%
PWD candidates receive an additional 2% exemption based on their category.
One-third of a mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer in both stages.
A typing skill test will be conducted for eight times the number of category-wise vacancies from the merit list in Stage 2 for typist positions, requiring a typing speed of 30 words per minute in English.
Important Details:
Eligibility for NTPC posts announced by RRB is Intermediate or equivalent.
Age Requirement: 18 to 33 years as of January 1, 2025.
Age Relaxation:
5 years for SC and ST
3 years for OBC
10 to 15 years for disabled persons, depending on the category.
Last Date for Online Application: October 27, 2024.
Application Fee:
Rs. 250 for Women, SC, ST, Transgender, and EBC. If they attend the CBT, the remaining fee will be refunded minus bank charges.
Rs. 500 for other categories. If they attend the CBT, Rs. 400 will be refunded minus bank charges.
